I Recently Broke Some Ribs Falling Backwards Onto The Corner

I recently broke some ribs falling backwards onto the corner of our couch. It has been about a week and the pain is much better but there is popping in one spot of my back on the side that was broken. I know cartilage can cause this in the chest area. Is that what it is in the back also?
