I Recently Fell And Broke My Right Kneecap. It Required

I recently fell and broke my right kneecap. It required emergency care in the hospital. I am now home and am pretty sore. My concern is the amount of fluid my nose produces. I can feel it sliding down the back of my throat. I am constantly blowing my nose (never without product) and swallowing the excess. I have frequent sneezing episodes. What I want to know is: Does this excessive snot have any chance of slipping into a lung while I sleep? Five years ago, my left lung was drained of 2 litres of fluid, and there was no explanation of how the fluid came to be there.
