I Recently Got Surgery To Remove A Skin Bridge Near

I recently got surgery to remove a skin bridge near the glans. I was prescribed bacitracin ointment with zinc and told to apply 3 times a day and before bed. When I apply the ointment, should I cover the area with a piece of gauze or leave it open. Same question applies to when sleeping at night.
