I Recently Had Some Blood Color In My Stool And

I recently had some blood color in my stool and I have had periodic nausea and weakness also in the past months - maybe 4-5 times in the year. I'm due for a physical, but now I am a bit concerned. Maybe that's due to some friends who have had cancer and a bit of extended family occurrence of this also. Are there any particular tests that would be advisable? Any advise you could offer?
