I Recently Had Two Braces Inserted In My Lower Spine

I recently had two braces inserted in my lower spine for chronic severe pain. The VA recommended the surgery and sent me to a civilian hospital to have it done. They won't tell me what the condition is called. Could it be spinal stenosis? I also have diabetes type 2 and ischemic heart disease due to agent orange exposure. I am also affected with PTSD. I am rated at 70% disease. My primary concern is finding out exactly what spinal stenosis symptom are.
