I Recently Injured Hand/wrist In A Fall. The Pain Persisted

I recently injured hand/wrist in a fall. The pain persisted for weeks. No fracture found in xray. Wrist was braced and steroid injected into wrist. Tonight wrist began hurting spasm-like symptons. When I got home, examined wrist/hand and swollen vessel on thumb side just above wrist. Blood vessel appears enlarged and tender to touch. Put ice on it, swelling appears to be diminished and less tender.
