I recently lifted something and my friend informed me I have an inguinal hernia. I am visiting the United States and will make an appointment to see my surgeon when I return to Italy on August 28. What can I do conservatively (for example ice vs. heat compress, no strenuous lifting) to assist the healing process? Thank you for your time. John
