I Recently Started Experiencing Painful Swelling In The Joints In

I recently started experiencing painful swelling in the joints in the fingers of my left hand. It feels like a bee sting and last a few days then goes away. When in returns about a week later in happens in a different finger. I've also experienced pain shooting up my thumb.
