I Recently Started To Notice That My Gums Seem To

I recently started to notice that my gums seem to be growing closer and closer to my brackets. I have had braces for almost a year and this has never happens. I just started to use rubber bands but I don't think that would cause it and it can't be from plaque build up because I brush 2-3 times a day
