I Regularly Take Readings Of My Blood Pressure And The

I regularly take readings of my blood pressure and the readings are between 170/77 to 203/90 and yet I take Losartan and I am experiencing terrible side effects which include stomach pains, back ache a feeling of cystitis diarrhea leg cramps. I am reluctant to take it but feel I must try to control my blood pressure. I also have a pelvic kidney and I believe that is what is causing the high blood pressure. The only thing that reduces my blood pressure is a diuretic but as I teach part-time I am unable to take it everyday. I do not wish to take amlodipine as it causes oedema of the lower part of my trunk and legs. Am I running out of options? I should add that I am 68 years old and have experienced high blood pressure for the last 41 years.
