I Scratched The White Of My Eye And I Don't

I scratched the white of my eye and I don't think there is anything in it. It feels bad but the redness is gone from yesterday by washing with saline solution, Will this heal without medical procedure? My friend says it just looks like a surface scratch with a tiny tissue flake on the white part of the eye.
