I Sprained My Ankle Last Saturday. Pain Was On Outer

I sprained my ankle last Saturday. Pain was on outer ankle and across top of mid-foot. Felt burning pain when walked on it. Xrays on Tuesday show now broken or fractured bones. Dr. on Wed said probably a Grade 2 sprain. Have been waiting ever since for referral to orthopedic to be approved. Today the tingling and numbness in mid-foot area and on the bottom is increasing. Feels like a band all around the center of my foot. Do I need to worry about waiting until next week to be seen or have an MRI performed?
