I Started My Period Yesterday And Today When I Inserted

I started my period yesterday and today when I inserted a tampon it was very tender. And that has never happened before. Just like also the past couple of weeks when me and my boyfriend have sex it hurts. And like I said it has never happened like this before. I have had issues with my period being irregular by just a couple of days to a wk. Never more. And it has never lasted more than 5-6 days. Last month I had a normal period with a couple days of very very light spotting for about 4 days after my period. Which I would only see blood when I would wipe once. Roughly in the middle of my day. I just want to know what is wrong with me.
