I Started On The Birth Control Nodette A Month Ago

I started on the birth control nodette a month ago before my periods has started so I missed that month after having unprotected sex I tested and it was negative the same day had sex unprotected now after a week in my periods i realised a meat flesh and it was heavy bleeding and im not a heavy flower. Could this be a early stage miscarriage?
