I Started To Experience Pain Around My Left Scapula About

I started to experience pain around my left scapula about two months ago. This pain is sharp and stabbing like someone pressing a sharp instrument right into the right side of the left scapula. The pain came and went periodically. Two weeks ago this pain began more intense and frequent. Uncomfortable to the point where i had to take some low-dose, over-the-counter Ibuprofen. The Ibuprofen helped somewhat at first but less effective now. Deep breathing and stretching movement increase the pain. I do have a history of a bad joint attached to my sternum and cracked ribs. I do not think those are the causes of this pain. Please advise me what can be done to alleviate the pain and can get an X-ray. Thank you.
