I Stepped In A Long White Thorn. It Went Through

I stepped in a long white thorn. It went through my slipper into the ball of my foot. There was not much bleeding but I battled getting it to come out. Last night I did not sleep well as my whole leg was aching. This morning it is swollen and hard but not on the pucture mark it is a little higher up. Do I need to see my doctor?
