I Stepped On A Bee Yesterday On The Bottom Of

I stepped on a bee yesterday on the bottom of my toe. My toes and top of my foot got swollen. Unfortunately I had to be on my feet all day yesterday, and never got to rest it. Today my foot and ankle are very swollen. I have been resting today, ice, elevation and taking Benadryl. Someone said that sometimes the bee stings can lead into the blood stream? I have no other symptoms just swollen foot and ankle. Do I need to go to Dr. or can I just keep and eye on it? Thanks,
