I Stepped On A Nail. Due To Heavy Shoes And

I stepped on a nail. Due to heavy shoes and socks the nail didnt puncture the skin but did go into the padof my foot. It's even to weeks and now I have a small pea size bump and it is painful when I walk. Will this go away on its own or should I see a doctor? Is it scar tissue?
