I Suddenly Get Pain In Me Left Side....lower Back Area.....actually

I suddenly get pain in me left side....lower back area.....actually ,more to the side where the kidney or lungs are located....and when I get this pain...it takes the breath out of me.....its been going on for about two weeks now.....should I be concerned.....I see my family doctor the end of January....can it wait til then.
