I Suddenly Had An Extreme Irritation In My Left Eye.

I suddenly had an extreme irritation in my left eye. I have taken my contacts out and make up off. I have used warm compresses, but it is bright red and the white part seem to be swollen. It doesn't hurt, just uncomfortable. But, it started suddenly with no prior symptoms.
