I Suddenly Have Red In The Outer Corner Of The

I suddenly have red in the outer corner of the sclera (?) (white) of my left eye. I felt a brief irritation last night before bed as if something were in it but the red did not show up until a few min. ago. I feel a slight soreness when I press around the outer corner of the eye. I am 60 yrs old female, no health issues, on no medications.
