I Suffer From Hidradenitis And Have For Over 40 Years.

I suffer from Hidradenitis and have for over 40 years. I have been doing a lot of research. The most recent study I can find is trying to link HS with Staph, but the method used is flawed as they prolonged the normal culture test. In examination of the test results however they did detect Anaerobic Actinomyces in 90% of lesions tested. Anaerobic Actinomyces also cause Cervicofacial Actinomycosis and the symptoms are almost identical to HS. Also the primary Anaerobic found is A. Israelii (the same that causes Cerviocofacial Actinomycosis. Research shows that Ampicillin (along with a few other antibiotics if used with other combinations) are the only effective treatment for Cervicofacial Actinomycosis, but it requires a long 6 months to a year doses of ampicillin 500 mg every 6 hours to destroy all the organisms, or IV use for several weeks in a hospital with about a month of oral medication afterwards. Many years ago I had a very old Dr. (he was in his 80's) he misdiagnosed my HS, but prescribed 10 days of Ampicillin and it was the only time with my HS I ever had anything that worked. Since that time no Doctor I have seen would prescribe Ampicillin even though they would ask if I had ever had anything that helped and I would tell them ampicillin. They would say "I wouldn't prescribe that to anyone". (guess because it is inexpensive). My research also shows that short courses of ampicillin will not work and only long term use. What is the chance I can convince my current GP of this? Oh did not know you have to pay. Figures. I would not have bothered had I known. I will just discuss with my GP.
