I Swallowed A Mouthful Of Piping Hot Mashed Potatoes Yesterday

I swallowed a mouthful of piping hot mashed potatoes yesterday evening, not realising how hot it actually was, I could feel it burning my insides as it went down and now every time I swallow something it hurts in the centre or my chest how long will it take to heal & is there any way I speed the process up as the pain is really bad?
