I Take Ambien CR For Sleep. The Generic Does Not

I take Ambien CR for sleep. The generic does not work. Now insurance won't pay. I work 40 hours a week and don't make enough to but it out of pocket. Just want to get enough sleep so I can function at work.
Any ideas? Sleep problems for ver 30 years.
