I Take One Co-codamol A Night To Help Me Relax.

I take one co-codamol a night to help me relax. Am having trouble with my bowel. I am either too lose or too constipated, which i am now. Will taking a macrogol once a day for say three days be in order.
I am 86 and trying to cope with bipolar, which i have had sine i was 40 & of course is getting worse. Had prostate cancer a few years back, now wear a cathater, but am incontinant. Apart from that, all is well.
