I Take Tenormin For Mytralvalve Prolapse. I Sometimes Have Rapid

I take tenormin for mytralvalve prolapse.
I sometimes have rapid heart beat, and the meds help calm it.
I am on vacation and misplaced my pills. Will it hurt to not take the medication for about 2 weeks?
Previously, I was off the medication for a couple of years, and my doctor put me back on due to increased rapid heart beat at times.
