I Tested Positive To For An Allergy To Benzyl Alcohol.

I tested positive to for an allergy to benzyl alcohol. It is my understanding that it is present in certain foods and plants. I am wondering what the effects are to consuming lets say, Jasmine tea with honey. Both have benzyl alcohol in them. But I have been researching a good while now what side effects are possible for consuming such things and cant find anything. All the information I find are based on contact scenarios with cosmetics and such. Since finding out, I have avoided all things with benzyl alcohol including the consumption of tea and honey. I miss consuming these things and am wondering if I could have a cup every once in awhile with out mal effects internally. I am unsure about how ingesting things like honey or apricots effect a person. I know when I come in contact, I develop a rash, dry skin etc. But, does consuming these things only effect the skin or something more serious inside?
