I Think I Have An Ingrown Hair. Now Please Don't

I think I have an ingrown hair. Now please don't laugh, but it is in the fold of my inner leg, near my 'nether-regions'. What is concerning me is that I now have red lines. Like when someone gets a line infection after surgery? Sigh. So embarrassing. Do I need to worry about the red lines?
