I Think I Lost A Clot Where One Of My

I think I lost a clot where one of my wisdom teeth was extracted about 12 hours ago. I wanted to ascertain whether or not what I thought I was tasting was blood. So, I put two pieces of rolled up gauze in my mouth (one on each side because I had three total removed) and bit down hard, like the oral surgeon said to do if I started bleeding. There were trace amounts of blood on both, but something that looked like a wadded up-scab (brownish and it looked like it was rolled up a bit) was stuck to the gause on the right side. I wanted to take a picture of it to get confirmation, but I lost it again !! Does that description fit a clot and could that clot have possibly passed thru my stitches ?
