I Think My Pancreatitis Is Back, But I Don't Understand

I think my pancreatitis is back, but I don't understand why it's so critical to go to the ER? Ask a nurse and a Pharmacist told me to go but w/o an explanation. I'm experiencing pain in my stomach area with bloating and trying to eat makes the pain and bloating worse. I've gone w/o eating before for 24hrs which seemed to subside the effects, so do I still need to go to the ER?
