I Though I Was Having An Allergic Reaction When First

I though I was having an allergic reaction when first my ears got red, warm and itchy then continued on my face and neck and were itchy and blotchy too. No new changes in clothes, soaps, laundry detergents or anything else I can think of, or foods or supplements. Dr gave me 5 days worth of steroids that I finished yesterday but still have red and itchy feeling on face and neck. I'm 49 yrs old and wondered if hormones could be the reason although I take a natural progesterone cream...?
