I Took OCP For 10 Years, Stopping Last April (2016).

I took OCP for 10 years, stopping last April (2016). I have been trying to conceive since and have been unsuccessful. Recently I got sick in december and it lasted about 3 weeks. After I finally felt better, my periods have been very irregular, bleeding lightly almost all month long. My OB suggested I try 3 months of an OCP again to get my cycles back on track. Is this going to affect my chances of conceiving after completing my 3 months? Is there another plan to try and get my cycles regular again ?
