I Took A Bad Spill Onto Asphalt Last Night And

I took a bad spill onto asphalt last night and landed primarily on my left knee. In addition to the excruciating pain at the injury site & 360 degrees around the knee, I have numbness on the left side of my calf, directly under my knee. My primary care doctor was not helpful, made no referral or call for x-rays. What would be my next move? Should I be asking for an Orthopedic Doctor?
