I Took A Shower And Afterwards Had A Stinging Around

I took a shower and afterwards had a stinging around the lips of the vaginal towards the anus and was wondering if washing to hard can cause skin to be taken off? It's only in the one spot and goes away by morning usually. I did get examined for genital herpes and was told I show no signs of it anywhere.
