I Took A Softball To My Shin / Shin Bone.

I took a softball to my shin / shin bone. Immediately was stinging pain couldn't put full wt on that leg. Theres a throbbing type of numbness feeling from knee to foot. Played rest of that inning the applied ice & elevated but its been about 2 hrs now and the pain is still horrible, hurts when i try to move my foot back & forth. Contusion vs fracture? Should i go get it x-rayed or not?
