I Took The Depo Shot Around Mid/late July. It Was

I took the Depo shot around mid/late July. It was my first time ever getting it. Obviously this shot isn't successful after 3 months. Well, now it's late December and I have some brown stringy discharge. I haven't had my period since the day I've gotten depo. Is this a sign it is starting again?
