I Understand That Kudzu Root In Pill Form Can Be

I understand that Kudzu Root in pill form can be used to treat alcoholism. What would be the recommended dosage for an adult male (if this is true)? My friend (yes, it's really a friend of some 40 years, not me) will be speaking with his physician on the 13th about detox & follow-up treatment. Are there any other OTC or prescribed medications that might help him with this journey? I am looking for treatment facilities within his insurance network as well. He is also suffering from Major Depressive Disorder and is currently prescribed Zoloft and Xanax.
