I Understand That Tropical Eosinophilia Can Be Transmitted By Mosquitoes

I understand that tropical eosinophilia can be transmitted by mosquitoes I am wondering if the symptoms manifest immediately or can be dormant for several years and then show up. My dad suffered from and was cured of this several years ago. Another family member is differing with asthma-like symptoms but has not been to a tropical country for decades.
