I Used My Neti Pot To Rinse Sinuses. It Worked

I used my neti pot to rinse sinuses. It worked fine when it first did it on the right nostril (it drained out the left nostril), but when I poured the solution into my left nostril, it didn’t drain out the right side, instead, it went into my throat. (This happens each time I use it.). But today after I used it, when I blew my nose after, my right ear squeaked really loud and it had sharp pain for a few minutes? What does this all mean?
