I Was 29 Years Old When I Was Diagnosed Of

I was 29 years old when i was diagnosed of Type II. Doctor gave me Metformin 500mg in 1-1-1 dosage for 2 weeks. After two week he added Galvus 50mg in same dosage along with Metformin. I continued on the dosage for 1 year. After 1 year he changed the metformin with Glycomet GP1 and Galvus in 1-0-1 dosage but to be taken 1 hour before meals. Due to work issues i had to leave india and currently i am in Qatar, whenever possible i am taking the same dosage but due to the cost of Galvus in Qatar (10 times more than india) and non availbility of Glycomet GP1 here, I am not able to continue with the same dosage. Whenever i run out of stock, i switch to Metformin 500mg 1-1-1 dosage. Past week i am getting FBS at 250+ levels (self monitoring device) and i increased Metformin to 1000mg doseage. Is this safe to do so or should i continue with the earlier medication.
