I Was A Heroin Addict For 10 Years And Collapsed

I was a heroin addict for 10 years and collapsed nearly every major vein I know of in arms and legs and had 15 major abscess. I'm now 1 year clean and wanted to begin working out with strength training but when I started I noticed severe pain in arms mainy in the inner elbow and pain in legs but what concerned me most was every morning I wake up my arms are completely numb and in serious pain which takes several hours to go away. Is there any advice you may have for me or a reason this may be happening. I'm scared that I have done some serious damage but I don't want to be to melodramatic.
