I was bitten by a fly or tick two weeks ago and my foot swelled up so was prescribes clarithromycin by the doctor (I am not allergic to penicillin so not sure why that one). The swelling went down but when I finished the course a week later ca
me back with a vengeance and I had cellulitis of the foot (with bullae with a yellow liquid) and wa treated with intravenous ceftraxione 2 g for 4 days. The swelling went down and I am now on an 10 day course of flucloxacillin (4g a day) and although the blisters are healing, there is still a slight redness in my heel. I am on the 5th day of flucloxacillin and very anxious. Eileen
