I Was Bitten By An Unidentified Insect Three Days Ago

I was bitten by an unidentified insect three days ago and the site is beginning to turn a deep purple in an area roughly the size of a nickel. Surrounding the purple circle there is a red area with a diameter of about 1.5 inches. The area is slightly swollen and elevated and is warmer than surrounding areas. Should I go to a doctor? I have had worse reactions to insect bites in the past and required antibiotics. Thanks for reading.
