I Was Coughing Up Phlegm This Morning While Brushing My

I was coughing up phlegm this morning while brushing my teeth and I saw a black spot with an orange ring about the size of a nickle out of the right corner of my right eye. I now notice that when looking straight ahead, any straight vertical line in my peripheral vision out of my right eye is now curved. What would cause this?
