I Was Diagnosed With A UTI Yesterday, Specifically A Kidney

I was diagnosed with a UTI yesterday, specifically a kidney infection. I have no bladder symptoms, no fever, some mild nausea but no vomiting, just severe flank pain, bilaterally. Frequently, probably 20 times this morning already, I have spasms of flank pain. I have had 3 doses of Macrobid, and I am drinking a lot of water, 40 inches so far. It's 1:45 pm. The pain is not sharp like a knife, but deeper. I hope that makes sense.
Is there anything else that I need to be doing? Have I given the antibiotic enough time.
I'm 65, overweight, female, and I've have several kidney infections since adulthood.
