I Was Diagnosed With A Hiatus Hernia 3 Years Ago

I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia 3 years ago whilst suffering from acid reflux. I have a bulging feeling under my left ribs which feels like it is pushing on my windpipe. I also have pain in my upper left back, could this be caused by trapped wind. I am a 53 year old female.
