I Was Diagnosed With An Umbilical Hernia A Few Months

I was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia a few months ago about 3cm large, just above my belly button. It was sometimes reducible but now it seems to be stuck and moved slightly higher up toward my stomach. Recently, I've began to experience bloating, gas and pain if I press on any part of my abdomen from my hip bones to my rib cage, or even just bending over. Is surgery necessary? What is rehab time if it is?
