I Was Diagnosed With Collagenous Colitis And Gastritis In December.

I was diagnosed with collagenous colitis and gastritis in December. I had frequent expolsive diarrhea and pain. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and hence, the diagnosis. I was treated with Asacol three times a day but the diarrhea had actually stopped before the medication started. I am now having the same symptoms but have only had the explosive diarrhea once and mild diarrhea twice.
The rest of the time I have very soft stools. My doctor has put me back on the Asacol and I have been on it almost two weeks with no change. I have read about budesonide as being a better treatment. Can I have the colagenous colitis without the frequent diarrhea?
