I Was Diagnosed With Microscopic Colitis 16 Years Ago. The

I was diagnosed with microscopic colitis 16 years ago. The last 5 years I have had excellent success with taking 3 mg/day Budesonide (but only when traveling) plus Pepto Bismol. The rest of the year (I travel quite infrequently), I manage just with the Pepto and timing for bathroom breaks. My gastroenterologist's new PA now is insisting that I not use the Budesonide and use Apriso instead. I tried a sample package for 4 days (4 per day) and had horrific cramping and episodes of diaharrea of 19 or 20 times a day. She says that the Budesonide is dangerous but wants me to go on a 3 week intensive course of it and then try the Apriso again. I am concerned and confused.
