I Was Diagnosed With Rapid Mood Swings Bi-polar About A

I was diagnosed with rapid mood swings bi-polar about a year ago and have tried taking a variation of different medications over the last year. I feel like most of them make my ability to process sentences and think of basic words during conversation.

I am a software developer who works with very complex programming code and I really need the ability to think. I can't tell if it's the mood swings, medication or pain (I am going to get a microdiscectomy on my lower back) that is causing these issues. Any input would be helpful.

I am currently on Depakote 750mg/day, in addition to Wellbutrin 350mg/day, Xanax .25-1mg as needed, atenolol 10mg/day, simvastatin 20mg/day, Norco (as needed for pain - but 2pills taken usually twice daily), tramidol or benadryl for sleeping.
